Pinterest Friday's

Just a few of my favorite pins from the last week.  I hope you enjoy and be sure to check out my Pinterest for more ideas!

Unfortunately this pin was not linked to anything, but I think this would be a great DIY. I plan on making one of these for our house, so I will be sure to take pictures and make a post with a few small projects that are on my todo list.

I just love this photo wall! Joi at Nuestra Vida Dulce always has the best decorating ideas.

Another photo gallery pin,  I just love this idea and can't wait to incorporate one of these into our future home!

Coffee bar.  If you haven't caught on I have spent the last week stumbling across ideas for our future home.  I think this is a great idea and those closest to me know how much I love my coffee cups and my Keurig!
Mason jars = love!  My wedding center pieces were mason jars and I also use them for home decor.  Pinterest has been a great place for people to find all sorts of uses for mason jars now, including this light that I just adore!

One Step Closer...

I am one step closer...Today was my last first day of a new semester.  I have longed to be done and now I am in my last semester wondering where the time went!  I am so happy knowing that this is my last semester, but I am also getting a little nervous...I already told myself and all of you that my goal was to not procrastinate this year, here is to hoping I can stay on top of everything!

I will make 2014 count by...

Happy, happy New Year my friends.  I hope that you had a fabulous, sparkly, and safe New Years Eve!

Truth be told, we didn't even go out this year!  We decided to have a casual night in and enjoy our first New Years Eve as newlyweds home together.

2013 was a great year, I started working for Chloe & Isabel, got a promotion in my day job, was one year closer to completing my degree in Business Management, and married the love of my life!  I will make 2014 count by completing my degree, raising my business goals for both Chloe & Isabel and my day job, and moving into my first home with Jason.

I am a huge procrastinator!  I understand this about myself and I always say I want to do better, in 2014 I am going to be better about not putting things off.  Instead of saying I don't have time I want to better organize my time.

This year will be the year that Jason and I learn a lot about ourselves and our relationship while standing on our own two feet and I couldn't be more excited.

Do you make New Years resolutions or goals?  If so, I would love to hear them!  2013 was so good to us, but we are really looking forward to all that 2014 brings!

Linking up with one of my favorite blogs, Little Baby Garvin!

Wedding Vendor Recap

Jason and I were engaged for 18 months before getting married and wedding planning played a huge role in my life during those 18 months, so I thought it would be fun to do a wedding vendor recap.  First I have to start by giving thanks to ALL of our wedding vendors, they did such an amazing job and I couldn't imagine a better group of people to work with!  I planned the wedding from 500 miles away so having vendors I felt comfortable with and could trust was an awesome feeling.  I would highly recommend any and all of my vendors to anyone getting married in Arkansas!

Family is the most important thing to me and Jason.  We were married on September 28th which was the same day my great-grandparents got married and our wedding was held at The Lodge at Mount Magazine (more about that below) with our closest family and friends present.

Mount Magazine in Paris, Arkansas will always be near and dear to our hearts.  If you are standing on the front porch of Jason's grandparents farmhouse and you look to the left you can see Mount Magazine.  The terrace at the lodge is where Jason proposed and where we said our vows.  I worked closely with Brandy and she was amazing.  She went above and beyond anything I could have ever asked of her and we kept in communication often.  The staff at The Lodge at Mount Magazine were very helpful in setting up for our wedding and were always so kind.

My cousin Christy photographed the entire wedding day,  we were so impressed by the pictures she took.  We shared ideas back and forth leading up to the day of the wedding and she captured everything I asked for and more!  After the wedding we were able to piece together the entire day by looking at the pictures she gave us.  Having someone I loved and trusted taking my pictures put me at ease that day.  I am so happy with the decision I made to have her take our pictures and I am forever grateful that she agreed.

Our bakery was TheCakePlace in Russellville, Arkansas.  Lauren the owner was a pleasure to work with and our cakes and cupcakes turned out better than I envisioned!  One of the things we both loved about TheCakePlace was that for our 1-year anniversary they will will give us a complimentary replica of our top tier, rather than us having to save and eat year old cake!  We had our traditional wedding cake, a groom's cake (Arkansas Razorback..of course) and six flavors of cupcakes!  Everything we have tried from TheCakePlace was delicious!

If you are planning a wedding you NEED a videographer!  Everything I had heard about the wedding day going by in a flash was true.  It is crazy how fast the day went by and how little we remembered.  Sitting down together and watching our video of our wedding day was amazing.  Chris and Kim from Branchout Weddings did such a great job!  Kim even took a break from filming to help my MoH Rachel lace my dress!

Shelly, the owner of Bliss Salon came to Mount Magazine to do my hair and makeup and Rachel's hair.  I was so happy to have her there and not have to spend time worrying about my hair!  Shelly was easy going and fun to have around while getting ready for my big day!

They say everything happens for a reason and I believe it!  We found two flower shops in Booneville and not knowing much about flowers we decided to go into the one we found first.  I wasn't to pleased with the look of the shop and we were told the owner is the one who dealt with weddings and he wouldn't be back for 4 or 5 hours.  I politely took his business card and we decided to stop into the other florist to see what they had to offer.  I loved the Booneville Flower Shop from the moment I walked in the door, the decorations they had for sale were just our style and the staff were all friendly.  As we started talking to the gentleman who owned the shop we found out that when Jason's grandmother was alive she frequently ordered flowers from them as well.  Every time we made a trip to Arkansas we would stop in and visit our vendors just to touch base with them and without fail I bought something for our house every time we stopped in the Booneville Flower Shop!

Welcome

First post! I got this! First off, my name is Keya and I'm completely new to the blogging world so my first few posts will more than likely just be me rambling on about nothing and getting used to this whole thing! Bear with me :)

On September 28, 2013, I married the love of my life Jason.  We had a small ceremony at The Lodge at Mount Magazine in Paris, Arkansas surrounded by or closest family and friends.

I have been thinking about starting a blog for a while now, I thought it would be a great way to stay in touch with those near and far.  I also run my own online jewelry boutique, Chloe & Isabel, so from time to time I will be doing style posts and informing you of our sales!
